Restaurant with walls/beams painted by Chagall?

My cousin told me of a restaurant in Paris, and I believe he said that Chagall had painted the beams or walls of the restaurant. The name was something like Le Coupele, but I can%26#39;t find anything online. Does anyone know what restaurant this could be? Thanks.

It is probably La Coupole, Boulevard du Montparnasse.

The pillars at La Coupole were painted by nieghborhood artists when the cafe was first converted from a coal bin to the largest restau in Paris.

Chagall did paint a mural on the ceiling of the Opera Garnier. Perhpas your cousin is just a tad confused.

It%26#39;s not a restaurant but I believe the ceiling of the Opera Garnier was also painted by Chagall. There are tours to visit and you might find it interesting.

With a bit of Googling, I found several references to Chagall having painted La Coupole as well as the Opera. Of course, I also found several large grains of salt.
