I%26#39;ll be staying in a hotel on Rue Dupree around Pigalle and I would like to know if there are any decent bars and places to eat around there?
Can any one recommend any places?

I think you mean rue Duperré which is right off Pl. Pigalle, a rather dicey area to recommend bars unless you are into sxx for pay. However there are some very good restaurants just a short walk south and East. Spring, with only 16 seats, is right now one of the hot spots in Paris with a €36, no choice, 4 courses. Closer to you on Victor Massé is another decent, affordable place called Mosca Libra. Also there is Casa Olympe, Georgette, Del Orto for outstanding Italian, and a cluster of little places on the lovely Pl. Gustave Toudouze. Still in the 9th are 2 more upscale places, Carte Blanche on Lamartine and the 1 star Chez Jean on rue St. Lazare.

I was using Pl. as an abbreviation for place as in Place Pigalle, Place Bastille, Place d%26#39;Etoile, etc.
