The train leaves Gare du Nord station in Paris which is as near to the centre as you%26#39;ll get and arrives in Amsterdam Centrale which is at the northern edge of Amsterdam and 10 minutes walk from Dam Square. The train takes around 4 hours each way via Brussels. Are you sure that%26#39;s worth a day trip?

Centraal station is about a 2 minute walk from the red light district, about 10 minutes on the tram from Rembrandtplein and Leidseplein.
Gare du Nord is about a 10 -15 minute subway ride from the %26quot;centre%26quot;, by this I mean Notre Dame, Latin Quarter, Louvre
