Want to stay @ budget hotel under $125 US per nite w. family

Could anyone recommend a hotel w/ a/c for family w. one teen age child in a NICE family neighborhood relatively close to center of city and metro stops--not too expensive, please. Will be traveling end of July, btw, is this a %26quot;good%26quot; time to travel European-wise? Thanks!

Hi --

July and August are high season in Europe just as they are in North America. It would be a good idea to settle on a hotel and make your reservations ASAP. FYI, your $125 USD limit equals just over 90 Euros, and that means a very tight budget for Paris.

I don%26#39;t travel in Europe during the high summer season, so I really can%26#39;t help with hotel recommendations, but I%26#39;m quite sure that someone else will be able to make good suggestions for you.

Bon voyage.

Asking for a hotel in this price range that would have a/c that would be relatively close to the center might be nearly impossible. You might be better looking for an apartment and even then it would be unlikely to have a/c at this price point. But in an apartment you could cut your food costs. Also cannot tell if you need one room or two since you indicate a family. Triple rooms might work if there are only 3 of you.

You could go onto www.parisby.com and look at the different hotels in the different districts.

You will not be in the city centre for this price, try staying further away, preferably on the RER line. I like the Denfert Rocherau area as it convenient and cheaper than the cenre. Hotels that I know of are Hotel du Midi and Hotel du Lion

A triple room with a/c at the end of July for €90 will be quite the challenge.

A good place to start shopping is www.venere.com, where you can enter your dates, number of people, and a price range, then sort the results by price.

The summer promotions should be on before the end of July, so that will help with the budget for a triple...

Check the reviews for Les Hauts de Passy on this site. It%26#39;s a two-star hotel in the fairly posh Passy neighborhood of the 16th arrondissement, and I believe it has air conditioning. It%26#39;s probably a little more than you want to spend, more like $135-$140, but you may find it worth your while to stretch a bit for the convenient location, good neighborhood, and air conditioning.

There are also plenty of photos and more information on this hotel on the parisby.com website.

Actually, although you could get a double, I%26#39;m not sure you could get a triple at the prices I mentioned at Les Hauts de Passy. However, I think you should try. There are other two-star hotels in Paris in your budget, but you will find it very very difficult to find one with air-conditioning, especially in a good neighborhood.

Yes, we would like one room for the 3 of us (family w. teenager) with A/C in NICE neighborhood of Paris for av. $125/nite...any more suggestions...what arrondisements are preferred and NOT preferred. Thanks, again.

Try the Novotel Paris Est via the accorhotel website - room with double and single bed is €83 - its airconditioned and rooms are a reasonable size. Its on the end of the line number 3 at Galieni and well served by buses too. Also try looking at the Campanile chain of hotels - there are a few around the edge and also in the centre of Paris

My husband and I have both been very happy with the Hotel de la Sorbonne, not far from the Luxembourg Garden. The rooms are small but very clean and pleasant, and the price was right. Not sure about AC -- I was there in May and didn%26#39;t need it -- but check them out on the internet.
