Hotel des Grandes Ecoles versus Hotel Saint Jacques

In Sept we plan to travel from CDG Airport with luggage to either of these properties, walk or train to major tourist destinations, maybe eat breakfast one time in the hotel ,the rest of the time eating at local markets, patisseries supermarkets/ delis and dinner at local inexpensive restaurants and use a laundrobar closeby. We like a nice room and good bathroom.

Does one property have any advantage over the other?

Ecoles - garden, laundrobar closeby, nice rooms, small bathrooms

Saint Jacques slightly closer to main attractions, more public rooms, tv (maybe good or bad!!) nice rooms, bathrooms - bigger?

We are looking at Superior double rooms. all at about 135E

Anny comment appreciated.

Thanks

The difference in location is minor except going home if you are at the HGE as there is a bit of a hill from Metro Cardinal Lemoine to the HGE BUT you could go to Place Monge and it is pretty much level pegging on the way to the hotel and you can leave via Cardinal Lemoine when you are setting out. The Hge has a garden that is beautiful and as rare as hens%26#39; teeth in Paris, No TV but it would be sad if you cared about that in Paris

Hotel St Jacques has a much nicer decor to my tastes.... all that flowery stuff at Grand Ecoles would make me poke my eyes out after one day.
