Avignon to Marsailles rugby

Hi everyone, we are following the All Blacks in Sept/Oct around France hopefully to the World Cup final. We are staying in an apartment in old city avignon the night of Italy game and for week after but need to find a simple to access but nice place to stay the night before, considering likes of Ibis or Holiday Inn (usually hate these sort of places but one night of basic may suit). We are not sure whether to drive to Marsailles the morning of the game kick off 1.45pm or catch a train in. Does anyone know what train/walk access or parking near Marsailles stadium is like?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers

we are also doing the same as you following the AB%26#39;s over 8 weeks - we are not staying in marseilles as it is a bit of a dump. We are staying in Aix en Provence and taking the train in but don%26#39;t forget the Italy game is at 13.45 on Sat 8 Sept so need to be reasonably early.

Are you interested in discussing more details on this game and the whole tour? If so let me have a contact. We live in Silverdale

Hi NZ based

We are a group of 6 mid 40%26#39;s- 50%26#39;s AB fans from Hawke%26#39;s Bay who are really going to the World Cup as an excuse to relive our youth touring France. I have spent a lot of time when I was younger there so know my way around reasonably well. We are basing most of our time in the south driving from Avignon to Lyon then spending 10 days north of Toulouse in a small hamlet called La Fouillade. So not going up to Scotland or to Wales for 1/4 final, we%26#39;d rather watch it in a small french bar somewhere, drinking the local vintages. Then we are touring Italy and getting back to Paris for the semi%26#39;s and Final where hopefully we%26#39;ll beat England 72-0 in a dazzling display of free flowing rugby.

We%26#39;ve done all our accom using trip advisor and found some great places to stay along the way.

What you guys up to?
