You bet it worth a visit !
First , you will off course visit the %26#39;Pays basque%26#39; , along the coast from Biarritz to Hendaye .; don%26#39;t miss the %26#39;Route de la corniche%26#39; between Saint Jean de Luz and Hendaye.
Try to go on the top of %26#39;La Rhune%26#39; with the touristic train ; to do absolutly when the weather is bright .. from the top you can see all the coast ..
here is a link ; sorry no english version it seems
http://www.rhune.com/
I would highly recommend you one day trip in the Pyrenees, around Lourdes ; to do when the weather is nice ; and get up early , it should be a long day , but very exciting , i am sure you will appreciate ! ;)
from Biarritz you almost can join Lourdes with only the highway , 170km , less than 2 hours .. from Lourdes a good loop would be : Luz Saint Sauveur , then go to %26#39;le cirque de Gavarnie%26#39; , wonderful natural site
http://www.gavarnie.net/
Come back to Luz Saint Sauveur and join le Col du Tourmalet (from there you can climb with a cable car or walking to %26#39;le pic du midi%26#39; , from where you have a wonderful panorama on the pyrenees mountain ..come back to Lourdes crossing Bagneres ..
here is the site of Pic du Midi
www.picdumidi.com/html/_28_.php?lang=en
to prepare your road trip , use mappy :
www.mappy.fr
you will be able to get more detailed informations on place at the tourist office in Biarritz
enjoy your stay :)
