Staying on Mont St. Michel family of 5

It is very difficult to find accommodations for a family of 5. Any tips on how to get to stay on the Mont St. Michel with 5 of us. Thank you.

Contact the hotels directly and tell them your problem (I assume it is 3 kids and 2 adults?). Tell them ages, etc. I know at least one place there has a top floor %26quot;family room%26quot; which would fit you all, but I%26#39;m sorry I can%26#39;t remember which one. Often when you look at their websites or try to book online, they say doubles and triples, but in reality there is often set-ups available for 5-6 people in a family. But you need to email them to find out!

Look at these places.

This place for sure has a room that sleeps a famiy of 5

This one has a %26quot;Chambre Familiale%26quot; that I bet would suit your needs

And try this one too....

If you have trouble with the websites being in French (I find the Vieille Auberge one particularly frustrating to navigate) just send them an email!

Do a lot of reading about Mont St Michel before deciding to stay there. It is a very small, very day tourist orientated place, with nothing to do after dark, and quite possibly no evening dining apart from your hotel.

Most people find 4 hours on MSM is enough for a lifetime.

We are a family of 5 traveling to Europe this summer too and it%26#39;s been very difficult. In fact almost everywhere we%26#39;re staying we have to get two rooms. We got a room for 4 at Auberge Saint Pierre. I contacted them directly, told them my children%26#39;s ages and they were able to accomodate us in that room. I would e-mail the hotels directly. Mere Poulard originally had rooms, but as of this morning did not for me, but you might try e-mailing them anyway. The reservations agent was very much able to communicate in English.

Good Luck.

We did a day trip to MSM with our boys last month (ages 9 %26amp; 12). I think if you are planning on spending a whole day there....then a night.....then the next day.....then yes, that would be too long. But if you pulled in to MSM in the afternoon, toured the abbey, and then had the evening to let them run around the ramparts exploring after everyone left, I can see that being absolutely magical for a kid! Then you could get up in the morning and leave as all the daytrippers were arriving.

If you felt you had %26quot;too much time%26quot; you could also visit local sites. We hit the nearby German and American WWII cemetaries nearby as we left MSM.
