Hi all, would be most appreciative if anyone can me any insight as to which would be better for my family that I will be going with to Paris in the next few weeks. An apartment or a hotel? We will need to rent 2 hotel rooms, so maybe an apartment is better.
Any input most appreciated.
Cheers,
Gab

It%26#39;s true that an apartment rental will give you and your family more freedom and most likely more space. Depending on how many people you are and the ages of your children, you may be able to get apartments starting at 100 euros/night - probably on the smaller side but if the kids can sleep on a sofa bed it is quite a savings.
I recently used Feels Like Home in Paris to book a trip for myself and my wife to Paris and we loved it. The service was great and the apartment was well appointed. We stayed at one call French Flair. Bathroom was smaller than we are used to but the area was terrific. We felt like locals.
They have a bunch of apartments of different sizes so maybe you can check that out.
Best of luck and enjoy your trip.

It%26#39;s really a matter of personal preference, and mine is always apartments over hotels. They are more spacious, I can be more selective as to view, and I like having the option of cooking in if I so choose. We typically eat breakfasts in (after a quick trip to the local patisserie or boulangerie) and if it%26#39;s been a long touring day with perhaps a late lunch, then we might have a light dinner in as well.
What you don%26#39;t get is a concierge desk, but the good apartment rental companies give you plenty of local information and, of course, there%26#39;s always TA to help you out before you go. ;-)
An apartment just feels more like home to me. When I visit other countries, I like to do as much as I can to reduce the %26quot;touristy%26quot; feel and get into the local culture. I find apartments much more conducive to that than hotels.

I would always choose an apartment over a hotel - it%26#39;s cheaper and you get to feel like a Parisian. There%26#39;s nothing quite like the feeling of arriving %26quot;home%26quot; at the end of the day.
I think the minimum length of stay is usually 3 or 5 nights, so if you%26#39;re there for that length of time go for it. Not only is it cheaper you get more space and more freedom.
