From Normandy or Loire to London?

Hi all!

We are flying into Paris this September and then going through Normandy and Loire. We will need to get to London for our flight home the easiest way possible as we will spend our final night in London. Depending on the direction we go we will need to get from either Tours or Bayeux to London. We would prefer to go by Eurostar but would consider a cheap flight. What would everyone recommend for us? Where can we catch the train and how long would the trip take?

Thanks in advance.

From either place you would need to take the train to Paris then change stations to catch the Eurostar.

Tours to Paris takes about 1 hour by TGV (high speed train) and the journey to London is about 3 hours.

Bayeux to PAris is about 2 hours, on regular trains.

In both cases you will need to change stations in Paris.

I would never recommend taking a low cost airline, they are of absolutely no help if it goes wrong, if your flight is cancelled you could find yourself stranded for several days, do not rely on them if you MUST be somewhere on a certain date

Or if you rent a car, you could finish driving and then dump the car at airport return spots in Dinard, Rennes or Tours for direct budget flights to London.

Thanks.

At this point, unless someone sees a problem here, we are leaning towards picking up a rental car in Paris and starting in the Loire for a couple days and then moving up to Normandy for the next few days. We then would take a day to drive the northern coast, spend the night in Calais, and catch the morning Eurostar to London. This seems the easiest and most economical way to go especially after looking into the train fares and flight hassles out of Tours.

Thanks for the help.
