Best (scenic) way to Gordes from Nice?

We%26#39;re staying in Nice for six nights then heading to Gordes for two. Can anyone please tell me the best (most scenic/interesting) route to take and any stops or sights that are not to be missed along the way?

Also, after Gordes we go to Cassis, so the same kind of route help for this trip would be much appreciated!

The most scenic route from Nice would be through the Verdon Gorges and past Moustiers Ste Marie, maybe with a stop for lunch at Les Santons. I%26#39;d suggest an early start.

We%26#39;ll be going Bonnieux to Eze. What would be the most efficient/fastest route? If we choose going thru Verdon Gorge, how long would that take? Thanks.

Bonnieux to Eze you%26#39;d catch the autoroute just south of Pertius. Probably about three hours. The other route maybe five--but with that much non-autoroute, it could be longer depending on traffic. Definitely an all day affair with a stop in Moustiers.

Here is one I used 2 years ago, a mix of highway and %26quot;routes nationales%26quot; or %26quot;départementales%26quot;.

Nice to Aix-en-Provence on A8 163 km

Then Aix-en-Provence to Apt (a total of 56 km)

Northbound to Pertuis on D556 22km

Westbound to Cadenet on D973 12 km (see troglodytic houses there)

Then on D943 to Apt 24 km (Lourmarin is 4km from Cadenet then you

can stop at Bonnieux)

Now from Apt to Gordes (30 km)

N100 for Avignon until you reach Coustellet (22km)

D2 to Gordes (8km).

From Gordes you can go to the Abbaye de Sénanques (4km north on D177).

You can also go to Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and Isle-sur-la-Sorgue from Gordes. I suggest you go on www.viamichelin.com for itinerary and distances.

For Gordes to Cassis, check on Via Michelin website. I remember using A52 close to Marseilles. The most scenic would be from Toulon to Cassis using the shore road.
