restaurant near rue marie stuart/2nd arrondissement

Hi

I%26#39;m taking my mum to Paris for her birthday in June and we are staying on rue marie stuart (2nd arrondissement). i was wondering if anyone could recommend any nice restaurants within 5-10 walking distance. As we are travelling alone i%26#39;d rather not have to walk too far on foot at night. I am looking for typical French food (but we are not fussy and will eat all kinds!)but only have an average budget - say max 80 - 90 euro for the both of us with a bottle of wine. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I am trying to learn some basic French before we go so i%26#39;m hoping this will help me out on our travels.

Merci

In Rue Marie Stuart there is an excellent Cuban restaurant called Mi Cayito.

On Rue Montorgueil there is Comptoir du Commerce, excellent example of a Parisien cafe, always have the daily special!!

On Rue Tiquetonne there are a number of restaurants, in particular is Le Grappilon (sp) which specialises in cooking from Southwestern France, very tasty

Hi Lynda01

I am happy to read your post and reply from FatChris...as our family of 4 will be staying on Rue Marie Stuart in early July. Kids are always concerned about the food and readily admit that they want to eat at a McDonalds in every country they visit. Not my taste, thank you very much!

We will arrive from the Gare du Nord, so hope to take the metro to Etienne Marcel station.

Would like to hear what you think about the area, so please post when you return. Or PM me.

Thanks so much!

Hello again

Sounds like the pedestrian market is a great place to eat as well. Can hardly wait to try the croissants and other specialties of Paris!

Bon appetit!

Thanks to FatChris for the suggestions. is always nice to have a couple of places to head for.i%26#39;m really looking forward to it. Hi to CDNLynn. I %26#39;ll definitely post a review of our trip when I get back. We%26#39;re only in Paris for a long weekend but hope to see as much as we can (and eat as much as I can!!).
