Please Help--Provence itinerary--only 2 days left!!

First and foremost, I need to thank everyone on this board who, even though you don%26#39;t know it, helped guide me while planning for this trip.

We leave in 2 days and I have finally settled on a tentative plan, knowing and welcoming the fact that plans can change at any time...

Any advice/suggestions I can get on my itinerary will be greatly appreciated. Here it goes....

5/25-5/29--4 nights in Cheval Blanc

Arrive the evening of 5/25 from a long trek from NYC, catch a quick

bite and get some much needed shut eye.

Saturday 5/26--drive to Arles, go to the market, see the sights, and stop at Les Baux on the way home.

Sunday 5/27-- Isle de la Sorgue market with the rest of the day open for anything...

Monday 5/28--early to St. Remy for the Fete De La Transumance, shopping and Glanum. Then onto Oppede le viuex, Menerbes , and Lacoste

5/29-5/31-- 2 nights in Cabriers D%26#39;Aigues

Tuesday 5/29--Aix en Provence, possibly drive to small coastal town (any suggestions.) Should we be worried to keep our luggage in the trunk?

Wednesday 5/30--Cucuron, Ansouis, Lourmarin, Bonniuex, Saignon (thinking of doing this day via bicycle--can this work?)

5/31-6/2-- 2 nights in Malaucene

Thursday 5/31-- Roussillion, Joucas, Gordes, Fontaine de Vaucluse... on our way to Malaucene

Friday--6/1--Carpentras (for the market,) Vaison la Romaine, Bedoin

Saturday 6/2--Gigondas,Sablet, Seguret (some wine tasting--any suggestion where)

Leave for Paris from Avignon at 6:41PM. Any suggestions as to when we should get to Avignon to drop off our car?

Thanks so much for any advice you may share--it is greatly appreciated.

All my best!!!

I%26#39;am not sure that I understand what you are asking for, as everything is so nicely organized ! Congratulations for this very nice trip !

If you want to check distances, I recommand you to use this website :

http://www.viamichelin.fr

You will be able to choose the way you want to go from a point to an other (type your destination, click walking/cycling if necessary, or click fast / economic / discovery / etc), it is very useful.

The tour you want to do by bicycle seems to be a long distnce (58 km) and be careful : this region is not flat !

Enjoy !

You are really going to see it all!!! Good for you!

Cassis was a highlight of our trip last summer -- the boat ride out into the Calanques was beautiful. If you have the time, the boats will drop you off at little inlet beaches and then pick you up again later on their %26quot;route.%26quot;

We were told not to leave ANYTHING in the car when we were walking around the villages (maps, shopping bags, sweaters, etc.).

I guess a word to the wise................

Enjoy your trip! That%26#39;s my second favorite place on earth - Paris being first, although after two trips to the Luberon/Vaucluse area, I love it more each time. It COULD pass Paris!

The Cave de Gigondas is a wonderful place for a winetasting. And Seguret is such a precious village -- eye candy around every corner. I loved all the green shutters there - very different from the blues/turquoises/lavenders of most of the other perched villages.

Make sure you post a trip report when you return.

Bon voyage!

thanks so much for the advice...i am getting nervous--the 10 day forecast calls for mostly rain the entire time i will be in the area--keep your fingers crossed for me that it changes...i will be sure to post when i get back---thanks again

If we actually got 10 straight days of rain here in the Vaucluse, I might drop dead of shock. We are already under water restrictions that started in March. The earliest start since I%26#39;ve lived here.

A few days of rain shouldn%26#39;t slow you down. It might clear the air a bit too.
