Travelling around Paris

Can anyone recommend the best / cheapest way to travel round Paris? Is it worth buying one of those passes in advance that gives entry into various sites ? , or is it better to just buy metro tickets when I need them ? Although I will want to see Eiffel Tower, Sacre Couer, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, I very much doubt I will be queueing to get into museums as this is my first trip and want dont want to spend it in any more queues than is necessary.

Also, best way to get from CDG Airport to Marais area where I will be staying ?

Thanks in advance.

Unable to help with your particular Hotel/Airport,but those Museum and Metro Cards are useful if you are staying any length of time.We have just returned from a Friday to Sunday trip and managed to walk everywhere, bying tickets as we went ,saw all the important bits, even the Mona Lisa, but even with tickets, the Tower has huge queues,be there by 8.30 am(it opens at 9.30) the Louvre also had fairly rapidly moving queues but wear comfortable shoes! we even managed a lovely evening boat trip (Baton Mouche-by Pont Alma Bridge)only 9 Euros and no queuing at all!

Have a good trip!

Just returned from 5 days in Paris and would found walking to be very convenient and comfortable (if you%26#39;re in reasonably good physical shape.) We didn%26#39;t metro at all but did buy a 2-day BatoBus Pass (11 Euro) which was very handy for jump-on %26amp; off destinations along the Siene.

Depending on your budget we found the Paris Shuttle to be convenient and relatively inexpensive way to get from CDG to and from our hotel (25-28 Euro (depending on time of day) with door-to-door service). They have a website or you can purchase along with air travel on the Expedia website.

Of course the RER train/metro is also a less expensive option.
