Lively area hotel

Looking for a hotel in an area central to sights, entertainment and nightlife. We%26#39;re also on a budget but want a hotel with private bath.

I know this seems to be a tall order. Any suggestions? Thanks

It depends on your budget for a double with ensuite - in Euros per night is easiest

|||

Was thinking about 100 pounds, but not more. Thanks

|||

Do you mean 100 UK pounds or 100 Euros?

|||

UK pounds (about $200 US)

|||

I think that is about 150 Euros at the moment so you will have no trouble at all finding a place for that price depending on the timing of your trip in a central area. %26quot;Lively%26quot; might depend on your age group. The Marais (most of the 3rd %26amp; 4th) and the Latin Quarter (5th and nearby 6th) or the area near rue Oberkampf in the 11th (you can walk there from a place in the Marais, particularly the more northerly part of the 3rd) would fit the bill. The 4th, 5th and 6th are most central from most tourists viewpoint as they are near the two islands in the Seine and a lot of the favourite sights

If you really want to be in the middle of everything I would suggest the Hotel D%26#39;Albe. It is a block fromt he Seine on the corner of Rue de la Huchette and Rue de la Harpe. It does have double glace windows, but the area is touristy and therefore, not quiet. Many people love the area though and I would definately recommend you check it out !!!

To be more specific, it is on the left bank, latin quarter. The area has pedestrian streets which have a lot of character, many restaurants and night clubs. Rates should be exactly at your price range !

|||

It all depends on your definition of nightlife, tourist restaurants and cafes are everywhere in the Latin Quarter, they are open late and the area is liveley. What I would regard as nighhtlife, clubs, bars and a less tourist vibe is centred more on the Bastille / Oberkampf / Republique area.

Citadines aparthotel on Boulevard Richard Lenoir is good for the above, it lacks character but it is perfectly adequate. Additionaly you can walk to the tourist areas in about 20 minutes or so.

We just got back from Paris and stayed at the Hotel des deux Continents in St. Germain des PRes for $140 euro/night. We loved the location and had a blast walking the streets between there and the LAtin Quarter. It is definately a place that younger people will enjoy. Also, it is easy walking distance to everything. The nightlife was the best and we were only in the hotel to sleep. We did not pay for breakfast at the hotel because it did not have the best reviews and there are so many great pastry shops and cafes around that are much more fun. I would stay in St. Germain or LAtin Quarter if that is what you are looking for.
