day trip to Normandy

I need some advise on the best way to take a day trip from Paris to Normandy and back to Paris.

thanks!

Normandy is pretty big, so it would help to know what you want to see and where you want to go in Normandy. A one-day trip to and from Paris will allow you to see a little bit, but you%26#39;ll just scratch the surface.

Nevertheless, renting a car is the best way to have full control of where you are going.

Or, take one of the bus tours, such as Paris Vision

Hi,

We%26#39;ve booked a day trip in early June with LinkParis where we take a train from Gare St Lazarre in Paris to Caen and are met at Caen train station by the tour group. It seemed quite reasonable both price-wise and also in terms of achievability (book your own train ticket though, it%26#39;s much cheaper). I really wanted to do the Battlebus tour which is supposed to be superb, but it was booked out on the only day that we could go. As you may know, 6th June is the anniversary, so around that time is fairly busy and quite heavily booked already. Good luck!

We just returned from Paris, and did a quick day trip to Dieppe and Rouen. (To do Rouen justice, it requires more then one day... it%26#39;s a really great place.) We took the earliest train from St. Lazare and headed back to Paris on the express at 7pm. It was a long day, but well worth it to see at least one part of Normandy!

If by asking about a day trip to Normandy, you mean the D-day beaches, take an early morning train from Gare St. Lazare to Bayeux. Read some of my earlier postings.

By the way, if you are going to do it in one day, I don%26#39;t think Battlebus is doing half day tours anymore. Try www.normandy-tours-hotel.com They are across the street from the RR station and do a half day tour.
