Oh No! No Eurostar Tickets!

Hello-I am hoping the TA Paris experts can help me. I have LOST my Eurostar tickets before my trip has even started. I think they were thrown out in the trash. I have contacted Eurail and they stated basically, %26quot;too bad.%26quot; The tickets are like cash and cannot be replaced. I have a locator number that they said I could take to the station and hopefully Eurostar would let me do it without the actual ticket, but there is no guarantee. Right now, because it is so much closer to the travel date, I have made a $600 error. I am sick inside and ready to cry! Does anyone know of this happening before and what are the odds that I will be able to travel with an email that gives my locator number? Any help would certainly be appreciated!

i believe that as long as you have the locator/confirmation number with the exact credit card you purchased it with, they may be able to print you out new tickets when you arrive at the train station.

i know that at airports, if you%26#39;ve already checked in and forgot to bring your boarding pass, as long as you have the credit card you purchased your airplane ticket and your id, they will print you a new boarding pass.

i hope you find your tickets, and i%26#39;m sure the ticket agent will help you any way they can if you%26#39;re courteous!

good luck!

From Eurostar%26#39;s website (www.eurostar.com) :-

I have lost my train tickets what can I do?

Question

I have lost my train tickets what can I do?

Answer

If you have lost or misplaced your Eurostar train tickets we can reissue them at the station on your departure.

Please go to the Eurostar ticket desk and take with you your booking reference (if you have it) and the credit/debit card you used to make your booking. You would need to do this at least one hour before departure.

This is subject to a £15 reissue fee.

Please note:

We are not able to post duplicate tickets.

I found this in the customer care section then Q %26amp; A. I%26#39;d email them and ask their advice but looks like you may be OK.

I am sure you can get them at the station,,, I mean , I bought my tickets online( through the Eurostar site, not Rail Europe) and all I had was a booking number and my credit card for pick up at the station( cheaper then having them mailed, and no worry about %26quot; losing them%26quot; ) I was supposed to be able to just use the machines there to print out my ticket, but for some reason it didn%26#39;t work, so got in the ticket line up and they were able to locate and issue ticket on the spot, this was at Waterloo, and I can%26#39;t imagine it would be much different in Paris.

Good luck and don%26#39;t fret, I think with your locator number and credit card you will be ok,, but , get there earlier ,, so you can deal with this in person. Even go in the day before if it is convenient.

WOW thank you so much everyone. I feel much better. I looked at the FAQ and didn%26#39;t see this, so I am grateful to you for letting me know what you found. I think I will also take your advice and go the day before. I was heartsick (and nauseous) at the thought of a $600 mistake. I hope it works.

More OH NO! Just as I was feeling better, I realized I did not book directly through Eurostar, but with Rail Europe. Does this make a difference????

|||

If you haven%26#39;t already done this, you might want to call Rail Europe and ask that specific question -- they should know the answer to it.

Hi Berkeley- Yes, I called Rail Europe (I mistakenly called them the Eurostar/Eurail people in the OP). They indicated I could take the invoice and my credit card to the station and %26quot;they may or may not honor it%26quot;. I think I am going to be brazen and take the chance...the fare has already gone up double and will prob. be triple by the time I get there. I am either going to score big or lose big. Oh well. I%26#39;m not going again soon so I will make the best of it. I have had a french native translate what I want to do into French and so I will show up with my little pieces of paper and smile sweetly and say lots of Merci%26#39;s!!!
