Hi, leave for Paris in 1 week. Has anyone ever used a private tour guide? I%26#39;ve heard if you have limited time, it%26#39;s a great way to see alot. Please let me know the company name %26amp; the approx price. Merci!

I used Barbara from Paris Photo Tours. You can search the forum as the web site for Paris Photo was recently posted. I used her seveal times but I don%26#39;t remember the cost. Don%26#39;t be put off by the name. You don%26#39;t have to even take pictures. Barbara is from the states so language is no problem however, she speaks French.

One we used last month and highly recommend is: Sabine at www.paris-authentique.com. She has a minibus and speaks good english plus several others as well. She even confirmed a dinner reservation for us. A very knowledgable guide.

Wow, thanks for all the leads. Now I just need to research them %26amp; see who can help. Just a week before we leave %26amp; I feel I still have so much to do. Thanks again.

..I really done see the point of a private tour guide unless you are a large number of people travelling together. I would suggest a half day bus tour to orient (and get the must dos out of your system). Both Paris Vision and Cityrama have a tour. You might try a Paris Walk which can be fun and off beat. At most museums there are audio tours. Last March I was in Paul buying a baguette and a tour guide was helping a couple buy a sandwich as well as pointing out the bakery. I tried not to giggle as I was thinking that people actually get paid for this (though for a nanosecond I was wondering how much as I was contemplating the price I was going to pay to take my SO out for his birthday ). I think the joy of Paris is making your own discoveries, working on the language and making your own memories. This can be done with prep on the internet or library before you go...yes you will get lost but that may just allow you to make that special discovery.
