three days in Paris

Hi All. We are stopping over in paris for 3 days on the way home to South Africa in July. I would like some advice on the best way to get around. Paris Visite? Mobilis (sp?)? Obviously for such a short time we can%26#39;t get out to far so would 1-3 pass be ok or too limiting? One day has to be up the tower, and hopefully onto the Seine. Our hotel is a block from the Arc .

Suggestions as to the best way for the tower. Tour? On your own? Worried about the loooong lines. Had some good advice already but always looking for more input!

As for everything in Paris you only need to know one word: %26quot;Metro%26quot;. But whatever pass you need but it is easily the best way to get around. It will take you from the Arc du Triumphe (station: Charles de Gaulle-Etoille) to the Eiffel Tower (station: Champ de Mars/Tour Eiffel) in about ten minutes and there is no need for a tour. To avoid the long lines, head down there first thing in the morning or last thing in the even (check the opening hours). The lines aren%26#39;t too bad, or if you climb up the the %26quot;2eme etage%26quot; there is no queue at all!

Boat trips of the Seine are a bit tacky but they get the job done, you can take one from the little port by the Eiffel Tower.

Best way around the city: left foot right foot, and enjoy the scenery :) If your hotel is one block from l%26#39;acr de triumph (?) Paris is at your feet: you can walk pretty much everywhere. Jump on the metro home if you get tired... Those sorts of tours is what cause the long lines: you all get dropped off at the same time... Always better to discover things on your own! Enjoy!!
