2 hours in Paris: where to eat lunch and see anything?

Hi,

We%26#39;re going to have 2.5 hours to get from Gare du Nord to Gare Montparnasse in July. Given that we%26#39;ll have two kids (7 and 12) and luggage, I was thinking a taxi would be the most convenient mode of transport.

Our kids have never been to Paris --- I know 2 hours is a ridiculously short time there, but does anyone recommend anything so that they can get a brief Parisian taste? Sights? Lunch?

Thanks,

Paul

One possibility is to have the driver give you a price to just drive around for awhile so the kids can at least see the Eiffel, Arc, Notre Dame, etc. Another possibility is to find a cafe near one or the other of the stations (although neither is in a particularly %26quot;scenic%26quot; spot -- a typical thing with train stations ) and just watch people go by. You really won%26#39;t have much time, and having the luggage will make it hard to do any walking, etc.
