Renting a Car

Is it possible to rent a car from Bonifacio or not ?

I have searched several car rental companies but they seem to rent from cities like Ajaccio or Calvi but not Bonifacio?

We asked much the same question over car rental, as we go to Corsica in June for our honeymoon. I think form the responses we certainly had that it is advisable to book before you leave the UK. Certainly it appears to be a cheaper option and at least then you should have a car waiting for you instead of being stuck with no options available to you. We found for us the cheapest was Holiday Autos.

It is certainly possible to hire a car in Bonifacio (Gare Maritime) through Hertz... but it%26#39;s not that cheap. A week%26#39;s rental of a Peugeot 207 will cost you over 300 UK pounds.

You might consider booking through Corsica-Isula car hire (Auto Europe) or Holiday Autos and get it from some other location. Figari, with its international airport, is not that far away from Bonifacio, for instance... though I suspect a taxi fare up there would cost you most of the difference!

A taxi from Bonifacio to FIgari would cost you around £40. If you%26#39;re arriving from Sardinia on a boat then it%26#39;s either that or....

HolidayAutos are the cheap re-provider of car rental services which are usually Avis or Budget or whoever. Why not get the phone numbers for the actual providers themselves up at Figari and ring them up to ask whether it%26#39;s possible to arrange a pick-up in Bonifacio?

I rented a car from Bonifacio - Hertz - in June 2006, so I know it%26#39;s possible. I think I did it via Holiday Autos, and it wasn%26#39;t significantly more expensive than anywhere else in Corsica.

Holiday Autos are currently giving a price per week of around £200 for their smallest car for June from Bonifacio, although it may well be more in high season.
