Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel

It it easy to catch a train to Mont-Saint-Michel from Paris?

Once in Mont-Saint-Michel, how could I get to get to Brittany or Normandy?

I%26#39;m trying to figure out distances from place to place.

It%26#39;s fairly easy to catch a train to Mont-Saint-Michel (Gare Montparnasse), but there is a bus ride to finish the journey.

Connections from MSM to Rennes and Caen are far from glorious. If you want to travel elsewhere from Mont Saint Michel, a car will be very handy (really).
