Hotel Muguet for honeymoon and first time in Paris ??

Hi everyone,

Hotel Muguet seems to have nice ratings, but would you recommend it for our first time in Paris on a honeymoon ?

We want to stay in a nice busy part of the city accessible to nice cafes. The hotel is in the 7th arrondisement and close to Eiffel tower, but I don%26#39;t know anything else about it, so any thoughts will be much appreciated!

Hotel Muguet is conveniently located, with many cafes nearby, but it%26#39;s definitely not in a %26quot;busy part%26quot; of the city - one of the more quiet neighborhoods, actually, but we appreciate that.

Rates have skyrocketed at Hotel Muguet in the last few years. Continuous improvements have been made, but the rooms, except for the %26quot;superior%26quot; rooms are quite compact with limited storage. Significant advantages, however, are that the air conditioning (June-September only) is exceptional and the hotel is entirely non-smoking.

We very much enjoyed our two stays there (2000, 2001), but wouldn%26#39;t go back now with those rates.

A really nice hotel in a %26quot;busy part%26quot; of the city is Hotel Le Regent.

This is not the busy part of town. It is very residential. Nice, but residential.

Try the Hotel Millessime in the 6th arrondissement. Good rates, excellent %26quot;busy%26quot; area of town, great reviews.

Since you asked if the hotel is good for a first time visit and a honeymoon I would say it is. It gets excellent reviews almost always. Our first stay being located in the 16th and having the Eiffel Tower in view up the street made our stay particularly nicer. Subsequent stays we chose other areas though. I would suggest that you book an Eiffel Tower view room at the Muguet if a view is important to you. These rooms are the most expensive for the hotel however.

We stayed at the Muguet our first visit to Paris and have returned many times. Yes the rates have gone up but the condition of the rooms has also improved. You can count on having a nicely decorated, very clean room, if a bit on the small side. Do ask for a room with a view, especially of the Eiffel Tower. There is a garret room at the top which overlooks Invalides, beautiful in the evening. However, my personal choice is of the Eiffel. I would recommend it without hesitation. The location is convenient for getting around, yet quietly tucked away. Rue Cler is just two blocks away. For a two star hotel, it feels more like a three.

thanks everyone...

The hotel seems to be nice, but the cost is 130 EU for a standard double room and 150 EU for a room with a view of Eiffel or Invalides..breakfast not included.

Do you think this is a reasonable price ?

TIA!
