3 girls going to Paris in July - can't decide where to stay

We%26#39;re finding the hotel searching business quite overwhelming and can%26#39;t even narrow down whether to stay in a hotel or hostel. One of the challenges is finding a hotel/hostel with triple rooms. We are on a budget so under 100EU is a must and we want an area that feels safe yet is close to the sights and is generally nice to be in.

Is this too much to ask? I%26#39;m thinking Latin Quarter or around Eiffel.

I hope you can give me some recommendations and insight! Thank goodness for TA.

When are you going? 100EU will be tough for a triple in the Latin Quarter or in the 16th or 7th (near the Eiffel Tower). It can be done with special rates or last minute deals. Try www.parisnet.net/hotels.html for those specials.

|||

Drop Latin or Eiffel - you will get much more value for your money (as to cleanliness, comfort, nice beds, calm location etc.) if you pick a hotel a little away from the worst touristcrowds.

e.g.

Hotel de la Porte Dorée - 90 euro for a triple

www.paris-hotels-paris.com/English/Rates.htm

Residence des Gobelins - 99 euro for a triple

http://www.hotelgobelins.com

I am sure you can find plenty more.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far. Right now it%26#39;s narrowed down to Hotel de la Porte Dorée or Hotel Moulin Vert. Porte Doree is less expensive but the Moulin Vert seems have more attractions at a walking distance (the price also includes breakfast).

Both hotels have good reviews.

Hmmmm... what should I do.

|||

Even though it might be fun to stay %26quot;in the center%26quot; you should save your extra euros for the visits to the boutiques! All you need is to be near a Metro station and you can get anywhere easily and relatively quickly.

Have fun!

Toss a coin .....

Maybe I would go for the %26quot;Moulin Vert%26quot; - the photo of the triple room looks as if it is quite spacious

www.venere.com/hotel/…

- and you will be quite close to Montparnasse and to your south and east there are lots of %26quot;secret%26quot; villas (that is: small residential squares: Villa Mallebay, Villa d%26#39;Alésia). To your north-east there is the lovely foodmarket street Rue Daguerre and Place Denfert-Rochereau where you can go down an visit the catacombes.

(I am enthusiastic about the 14th, because I hardly know anything about it - AND I shall be staying in Rue Daguerre next summer !!)

|||

Try Grand Hotel Leveque by rue Cler in the 7th.

|||

I forgot about this one. Hotel Home Latin. 2 star hotel, right in the Center of the Latin quarter. I stayed here one of the first times I was in Paris.

www.homelatinhotel.com

A triple is 110€ with the internet special rate. You won%26#39;t beat that i think. This should have bathroom in the room (some two star hotels don%26#39;t)

This is the hotel where they filmed %26quot;French in Action%26quot;!

|||

If you plan to stay out at night, after the metro closes, you%26#39;ll save the extra 10EUR on taxi fare, as those other hotels are a bit far out.

|||

Both Hotel Leveque and Home Latin look awesome but unfortunately no triples left :(
