visit to Paris

Hi I will be in paris from 2nd july to 5th july. There are 3 of us, and we are staying at Novotel Montparnasse.

We want to see the Louvre, Versailles, Museum Orsay plus one or two more. Can anyone suggest if we should take the museum passes or buy individual tickets. Also, what should we get for metro transport? A 3 day pass on zone 1-3 should be adequate, or would a carnet be better.

Hi

The ease and beauty of the pass is that it allows you unlimited use of metro buses and RER within the three zones, so there is a great convenience factor in getting one.

Also you make one purchase for your stay and you don%26#39;t have to fumble with individual tickets as you would with buying a carnet.

With a carnet you may walk more, hesitating to burn a ticket for a short metro or bus ride

Versaille, though is in zone 4 and therefore will be a separate ticket and fare, about 6 euros roundtrip each.

As has been recommended here often, buy your passes in Paris at any metro guichet when you arrive. Saves the handling fees that some online suppliers charge.

A third option is buying day passes for zones 1-2. These are called Carte Mobilis and cost 5.50 euro per day.

That%26#39;s a difference of 2.10 euros per person per day. So if that little savings isn%26#39;t an issue, then the Paris Visite is a good bet for you.
