Can i get a train straight from villefranche port to nice

Benji,

Me again. It is about a five/ten min walk to the train station but there are long gaps between trains at times, they are not wholly reliable and Nice Ville station is not in a very interesting part of the town. You would be better, as my last post, to get the bus number 100 or 81 to Nice bus station, ten to thirty mins depending on traffic and progress of roadworks which are causing problems at the moment.

To get the bus you need to walk up the steep hill from the port for 5/10 mins to the bus stop near the traffic lights on the main road. Hand the driver 1.30 euro or more but don%26#39;t proffer a large note or you might be walking. Don%26#39;t know how well you know France but they don%26#39;t queue. If you stand back politely you may never get on the bus. If there is an large crowd at the stop walk along the main road heading away from Nice. The next stop is about 200 yards. You will then get on the bus and can enjoy roaring past the stop with the crowd while the driver signals with a wave that he has better things to do than stop to pick up passengers.

Yup - take the bus. Heck it may be shorter to walk ;-)

Also certain times there is a ferry, but not sure when it runs....
